Marvel Megas!

Suzuran at DeviantArt, has posted a piece called "Marvel Megas" where sprites from the "Mega Man" games have been modified into 54 Marvel heroes and villains. Everybody get's a makeover, from Marvel's Big Wigs like Wolverine, Thor, Venom, and Deadpool to the lesser known Yellow Jacket, Cable, M.O.D.O.K., and Hercules. Considering Megaman II is my favorite video game and Marvel is my favorite comic book company, I can officially declare this the best fan art I've seen all week.

Triceratops No More!

Paleontologists have discovered a shocking fact about the relationship between the celebrated Triceratops dinosaur (left) and its less-glamorous, holey-headed counterpart, Torosaurus (right). Turns out they're not evolutionary cousins. In fact, Triceratops is just a younger version of Torosaurus.
According to Brian Switek, writing for the Smithsonian:
After collecting and examining dozens of specimens, the paleontologists found a graded continuum of growth from the smallest juvenile Triceratops all the way up to what has been called Torosaurus. (The difficult-to-classify specimen representing the genus Nedoceratops may also fall within this range of skull shapes.) On the basis of gross anatomy alone, it is easily seen how the frill of Triceratops changed as it aged, with large windows in the frill opening up as the dinosaur became an adult. But some of the most compelling evidence for these changes comes from bone anatomy that can be seen only under a microscope.
Update: Because the Triceratops was named first, that designation will be kept and the name Torosaurus stricken from the records. Farewell, Torosaurus.

The Avengers Teaser Trailer!

As you all should know, The Avenger's panel at the 2010 SDCC featured not only the entire cast and director, but also a teaser trailer. Well, now that teaser has been leaked (in quite good quality) online. While I am unable to post the video here I can link you to it. The teaser's not that spectacular, since all it is is various parts of the Avengers logo being highlighted with sparks as Sam Jackson a.k.a. Sgt. Nick Fury gives a voice over about the day the Avenger Initiative came together, then ending with a reveal of the title and an explosive fade to white, but I'm sure you'll want to see it anyway

First Picture Regarding The Live Action "A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up Timmy Turner"

According to Wikipedia:
"The movie centers on Timmy Turner (portrayed by Drake Bell), but unlike the series, Timmy is no longer a 10-year-old boy — he is 23, still lives at home, and still attends the 5th grade. Timmy’s arrested development stems from his desire to keep his beloved fairy godparents, Cosmo (Daran Norris as his animated form and Jason Alexander as his live-action form) and Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee as her animated form and Cheryl Hines as her live-action form), because “Da Rules” dictates that godchildren lose their fairies when they grow up. But when Tootie (Daniella Monet), a formerly nerdy girl who’s always had a crush on Timmy, returns to town as a gorgeous grown-up, Timmy finds himself having very adult feelings for her. He must decide whether to grow up and be with the woman he now loves, or continue acting like a child to keep the fairy godparents he adores. In the meantime, Hugh J. Magnate (Steven Weber), a larger-than-life oil tycoon, turns his attention to capturing Timmy’s fairies and using their power to fuel his maniacal ambition.
The film is a straight-to-television production likely to air on Nickelodeon sometime in 2011."
This... This Boggles my mind. First off, as a child, The Fairly Odd Parents was one of my favorite cartoons. Animation was the perfect medium for such a wacky and haphazard series. One minute, Timmy's could be being attacked by an army of his zombified former-pets, the next he could be fighting Tom Sawyer inside his own book. It was crazy. To make a live action movie defeats the whole purpose. What's even worse is they have gotten Jason Alexander (George Costanza from freakin' Sienfield) to play Cosmo. As a kid I never pictured Cosmo looking anything like that. I also predict he won't get Cosmo's signature voice right either.
Other things I didn't imagine as a kid: Timmy Turner would grow up to be Drake Bell. He would fall in love with Tootie of all people Edit: Chris has informed me that in the cartoon, it is referenced in time travel episodes that Timmy does indeed marry Tootie because fate is a major dick. Tootie would grow up to be hot. An oil Tycoon would be the series ultimate villain and not Mr. Crocker like we have all come to expect. And that Oil Tycoon wouldn't be Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome?
While I haven't seen the show in five or six years now, nor do I have any intention of returning to it or watching this live action sure-to-be disappointment, I can't help but to finally admit, "They are raping my childhood".

Lisa's Wedding

"According to 'Lisa's Wedding', the 19th episode of The Simpson's sixth season (originally aired 15 years ago on March 19th, 1995), Lisa got married today. Granted it was just a fortune-telling daydream, but I still thought it was worth mentioning" --Geekologie.com
Indeed it was worth mentioning. Indeed it was. I was only two when this episode came out. Granted I probably didn't first see this episode for ten more years, but let's face it: we are all getting old. If Lisa was 9 with "Lisa's Wedding" premiered, then she'd be 24 today. Yeah.
